Aether

Self-initiated study, no client: Aether is a fictional drink from Heraklion. The site is real and live at aether.selenedigital.com, with AI-generated footage.

The Aether opening: the headline The fifth element. next to a chilled aluminium can covered in droplets, a fennel sprig embossed on its side

The problem

Premium drink brands are almost always presented the same way: large photographs, sparse copy, a video autoplaying somewhere in the middle. We wanted to see what happens when the video becomes the page itself.

Aether is an experiment in direction: a product film that does not play on its own, but moves at the pace of your hand.

The approach

One HTML file, no framework. Six shots play frame by frame as you scroll: the scroll does not skip past the film, it directs it. The footage is AI-generated and we say so: the brand is fictional and there was nothing to photograph.

Each chapter's title composes over the film as you reach its shot, and under reduced motion the movement steps back without losing any content.

The outcome

There is no build step and no backend: what the visitor sees is one HTML file and six shots answering their scroll.

It is live at aether.selenedigital.com: the most cinematic piece of our work, made from the plainest materials.
